No more excuses to miss your workout this summer

While fitness enthusiasts find their way around different seasons, regions as well as their hectic schedules to get in their one hour (or more) of exercise daily, there are a few of us who’d find any reason not to work out, the summer heat being one of the biggest excuses.

We’ve devised an indoor workout programme that could be done practically anywhere, even in a small space. So put on your shoes (or not)  and get started with these easy-to-do moves…

1. Suryanamaskar:

A sequence of 12 powerful yoga poses, Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) is theperfect all-round exercise. Not only does it boost your cardiovascular health and improve your blood circulation, it also gives gives you a complete body warm-up.

Do 5-10 sets. One set includes 2 rounds of Surya Namaskar

2. Planking:

One of the best core exercises to incorporate in your daily workout, planking improves muscular strength and endurance.

Do 3 sets of 15-20 seconds each. Once you’ve mastered it, you can go up to 5 minutes as well.

3. Air Cycling:

This is great for your abdomen and lower body, and if you’re too bored or lazy to do this, switch on your favourite show on Netflix…you’ll never know how quick the time passed.

Do 5 sets of 20 counts forward and 20 counts backward, lying on your back.

4. Crunches:

These target your core, the most crucial area for fat loss.

Do 5 sets of 20 each

5. Side Bends:

These target body fat on both sides of the body.

Do 2 sets of 10 on each side

6. Lunges:

Improve lower body functioning, while targeting fat deposits in your thighs.

Do 2 sets of 10, with each leg

End the workout with a relaxing shavasan to cool down.
